Nick Cave decorates the image of Detroit’s streets

An expansive exhibition in Detroit, representing the modern sculptures of the artist Nick Cave, will take place soon. According to the critics, his Soudsuit sculptures have become something of a fixture in contemporary art and they’ll be placed in the city, beginning this summer.

The Cranbrook Art Museum in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills will host the show, called “Here Hear” It’s to be known they proudly accepted the project since Cave graduated the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1989. Next month, the artist will already be on his way to Detroit, ready to pose the various locations of the city in order to create a book of postcards. His creation will be called “Greetings from Detroit” and will serve as a promotional material for the show. He will also work with students from the Detroit School of Arts in order to stage his performance “Heard”. Local dance troupes and musicians will have their role on collaborative pieces throughout the city. According to his words, Cave admits the way his college courses helped in building his career “It provided me with a balance that I needed of being on an isolated campus, and also being able to connect to an urban environment. To be with my people, let’s just put it that way.”

The summer is almost here, and it will come with big shows and amazing events, which people of Detroit can’t miss.
